And they say your love life ends with marriage!

My husband set me up on a date tonight. It was pretty cool. He's out of town on some law-related interviews (very successful! more on that later...). He was talking with a friend, who mentioned he wanted to go to a concert tonight, but didn't have anyone to go with, and didn't want to go alone. The Absent Husband mentioned that I also didn't have anything to do tonight (not that I NEED anything to do on a Thursday night. I do work on Fridays, you know. It's called the Real World.), so he set us up.

Did I mention that the concert was Sufjan Stevens, who I have heard called "The greatest musician of this century" (yes, the century is only 5 years old)? And that I listen to his album, "Sufjan Stevens Presents Greetings from Michigan" incessantly at work?

So, Durrie and I (Durrie being the man that my husband set me up with) went out for a fancy dinner (Subway, if you must know), and then went to take in Sufjan Stevens and the Illinoise Makers at Mississippi Nights. I don't know the Illinois album like I know the Michigan (yes, he is trying to make an album about each of the fifty states, and actually has a song about seeing all 50 states... ) but I still loved it. And the venue was a small bar, so Durrie and I sat at the bar and drank and were at a fantastic concert. He sang the national anthem, but in his special Sufjan way. And the Illinoise Makers were dressed up like cheerleaders and did cheers throughout the concert. They even made a human pyramid, which I found to be hysterical. And if anyone randomly has a bootleg of Sufjan doing the national anthem, I want a copy. It was the best version I've ever heard.

But, I'm home with a new t-shirt, which, yes, I will wear tomorrow, and I'm going to really be tired at work tomorrow if I don't go to sleep now. Plus, I have the distinct impression that I'm rambling.
