What Literature Classic Are You?

V at film literate and Lisa at Lam(b) both posted this fabulous quiz, which is, as V rightly said, is the greatest Quizilla Quiz of all time.

And it turns out that I am:

The picture of dorian gray

Oscar Wilde: The Portrait of Dorian Gray. You are a horror novel from the world of dandies, rich pretty boys, art and aesthetics, and intellectual debates between ethical people and decadent pleasure-seekers. You value beauty and pleasure but realize their dangers, as well.

Which literature classic are you?

And we could chat for a while about how this is like me and how it's not, but I'll spare you. I have mad love for Oscar Wilde (sometime I'll tell you about the time I got drunk and went to Lady Windermere's Fan in London), so I'm happy.

We are one in the same, minus obvious gender and shoe fetish differences.

Yeah, this seems fitting. Lisa got Orwell's 1984 which also seems fitting (even though she wanted something else). I got LOTR which I am ecstatic about.

I must say I'm a tad bit surprised BatJay got Wilde as well ... but I see him as a dandy.

We must get others to do this quiz ... we must!

I am Virginia Woolf's Orlando, which is amazing, considering I was actually born as a nobleman, and am now a (mostly) liberated woman. These quizzes teach me so much about myself! Time to join a band of gypsies!

I can't do it at work either. But that will be the first thing I do tonight when I get home!

And I ADORE Wilde. I have every book/short story as well as every story made into a movie. Love him.

I am Shakespearean Sonnets...

"Shakespeare: Sonnets. Everyone has heard of you, and almost everybody can find something touching in you. You are calm and control yourself, even though your wisdom and your messages are no lesser than those of others."

Growing up I always wanted to be an actress and do Shakespearean plays and so I'm down for Shakespeare.

(In fact I did many when I was younger.)

I got Oscar too. Big shock.

You ever hear that story about him at Oxford or Cambridge or wherever he went? He read a poem in front of the school and some guy snickered so Oscar walked off the stage and slapped him in the face. Then continued reading.

Later on a few guys tried to jump him in his room. He pounded the crap out them - Oscar was huge - stole the ringleader's money and took them all to the pub where he proceeded to drink them under the table.

Oscar is all right with me.

Okay, I just took this quiz (because I love such things) and we're the same book. Which doesn't seem like much, but only 2% of people who took the quiz got the same answer.

See? We're meant to be Internet Friends!
