This Wedding Rocks:

I'm sitting next to Ashley at 8am and watching Ghana vs. Brazil, and we're talking about girly stuff and trying to ignore our hangovers while the roomful of boys make fun of us.

Ash gets frustrated and moves her hand so that it's over my lap and I can look at it, and then she starts laughing. "I was going to sign you somthing, but then I remembered you don't actually know sign language, just the dirty words I teach you."

Everyone laughs, and Ash and I teach them the sign for stripper and the difference between lesbian and lunch, shy and whore, and bitch and breakfast.

(UPDATE: And yes, as Logan pointed out, only people who sign will get this post. But, maybe I'll try to explain. I tried very hard to find links that show what these signs are, but the ASL standard dictionaries I found online had "Lunch," but didn't have the common way to mess up the sign that means "Lesbian," and so on with "shy" and "whore" [which I find so funny, because "whore" is just "shy" with a lot more attitude], and "bitch" and "breakfast." If we were in person this post would be more funny than poignant... and I was kind of going for poignant, but I'll take funny over ineffective any day.)

You realize that only people who sign will get this post, right?

Imagine me signing pedantic hooch at ya.

I've always wanted to learn sign language, but there's just something about having gigantic hands that makes it near impossible.

I want to learn inappropriate sign language!! I can think of at least a billion times that I've wanted to sign whore and haven't been able to...but I can also probably think of a couple of "non-official" signs that get the point across.

That's your mission: recording vernacular sign language! For all to see!

Sounds like you are having a great time!!! I love weddings! There is this guy down the hall from me who is always using sign language to talk to a secretary. As with any unfamiliar language, I always want to know exactly what they are saying! I should have paid more attention in fifth grade when we were learning the Pledge of Allegiance in sign.

I am recalling the day you demonstrated the sign for stripper. It makes me giggle.
