OW. Ouch. Damn It! OUCH. OW OW OW.

Three weeks ago I twisted my knee, nastily. I've been gimpin' it around ever since. I went to the doctor, she sent me for an MRI, we got good news, and I'm now in physical therapy.

The good news: I didn't tear my meniscus! Yay! No surgery! No long term hurt-y-ness.

The bad news: I DID sprain my knee pretty damn badly, and we're looking at another 3 weeks to 3 months until I'm walking without pain. At this point, I'd settle for sleeping through the night, or sitting and not moving and not being in pain.

Physical therapy was fun. The therapist gave me some ultrasound therapy, which felt awesome, and slightly warm, and then taught me some exercises, and then he did some electro-therapy, which was pretty cool, and made me feel all tingly. And then we set up bi-weekly appointments. For at least the next three weeks.

And 30 minutes after I left his office, my knee exploded into a huge amount of pain that,
honestly, this is embarrassing, made me have tears on my face while walking up Broadway. Thank god it was raining. And that I had half a bottle of wine in my fridge for when I got home. Because, remember? Allergic to anything that would help me with the pain that's not a narcotic.

Oh, no! That sucks, Marce. Especially in a walking city like NY.

Can you finagle some massage therapy out of the physical therapist?

you definitely should get something out of this!

I like the excuse of allergies in order to drink more wine...
