Am learning a lot of science as I read The Canon by Natalie Angier. and having fun doing it.

Have you read "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole? Most people get around to it in college, but if you missed out it should DEFINITELY be on this list.

Couple more to consider:

For the Relief of Unbearable Urges by Nathan Englander - Fantastic collection of short-stories. Englander's first book, and DEFINITELY worth reading if you haven't.

No god but God: The Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam by Reza Aslan - Alright, it's dense. It's a lot of information. But it's fascinating and well-written.

Love, LOVE the Monks of New Skete.

Another vote for "A Confederacy of Dunces."

We read "Kafka on the Shore" by Haruki Murakami in book club last year, and it rocked my world.

Right now I'm reading "American Wife" by Curtis Sittenfeld.

You have total inspired me! While I'm not even trying to read close to a hundred books I'm definitely trying for a personal best.

I love consulting your list to see what I might read next.

Have you thought about reading Loving Frank by Nancy Horan at all? I really enjoyed that one.

Hi Marcia,

I am trying to keep pace with you, and so far slipping behind! ;) I've read 24 books and am not sure I'll make 100 this year... we'll see.

I'm reading One Mississipi at the moment - it's good, but not great - and have Away lined up next. Have you read any Siri Hudsfelt (sp?) - I have her latest, Sorrows of an American on my TBR pile too (she's Auster's wife, as I'm sure you know).

I too have been inspired by your list. I'm going to keep track next year on my blog. I really have no idea how many books I read a year. I've been reading adolescent lit recently. I recommend the Hunger Games and Catching Fire.
