In other news...

My world has returned to normal. It was temporarily off balance when I found that my (never very good while I was there... 6 years ago) high school's football team was in the state championship game on Saturday.

But they lost 51-21. The universe has righted itself.

51-21 sounds a little disasterous, but I think you were expecting this kind of outcome. The tree is fab. You need some minature stilettos to hang on ot somewhere.

Here today via Michele's.

Poor Tigers! Yesterday was one of those days! The 3A championship was disasterous for the students I teach. They lost 14-35.

Fantastic tree, by the way! Are we calling it a Holiday Tree or an actual Christmas Tree? While I was at the gym, the tv was tuned to a new show discussing the politically correct term for the decorated plant. I heard an interesting conversation between the couple holding hands on the stairmasters.

Guy: "If you were Muslim, would you rather have your kids go to a school where it was called Hanukkah Break or Christmas Break?"

Girl: "Huh? I don't get it."

Guy: "Wouldn't you want them to call it Hanukkah Break?"

Girl: "What would it matter what they called it? The kids would still have Christmas off, right?"

They were State Champs my freshman year, and Notre Dame went 35-10-2 while I was there, including 10-1-1 and 11-1 in 92 and 93.

Have you ever thought that it might not be the team it might be you?

Just wondering.

Strangely enough, my high school football team won all of THREE games in my four years there, and yet they have managed to win the state championship something like 2 out of the last 5 years. I don't get it.
