Because 2006 is the Year of the Bookclub

Alright, there's been a lot of talk in the comments about having a blog bookclub, and I'm all for it. tg8 of Celeboganda! first brought it up, and it's recieved a lot of support... Basically, back in the beginning days of this blog, I used to write a little review of almost every book that I read - but the posts didn't get many comments, and I became less and less motivated to write them.

And so, now there's talk of this bookclub, and what I propose is this: that each of us (and basically, my entire blogroll and then some is in) will write about the books on our own blogs as we read them and feel the need to review, and then the other bloggers will read and comment (wow, this sounds like just plain old regular blogging) and (this is where it gets tricky, folks), after reading and commenting on a review, if one finds it to be especially pithy, one could refer to it in a post - it doesn't need it's own post, a call out at the end is fine. And that way everyone can be sure to check out the reveiws on blogs that they might not read regularly. Everyone got it? Ok, BREAK!

Oh, PS, tg8 has a great review of one of my favorite books, Life of Pi, up right now, and Anne has read Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination - which I think I'm going to have to go out and buy!

PS2, I promise I'll never have another post that uses the words "blog" and "blogging" as much as this one does.

This sounds more like a sitcom episode than a book club. I'm SO in.

I am totally in! I'm taking a bunch of children's lit classes this year and so I was already planning on reviewing them in my blog. I'll just add some adult books and make it even more fun!
