And, yes, I changed my clothes 12 times before I went.
Because really, I had no idea what to wear. Not a suit sort of an interview, but I needed to look nice, but not too nice... I was so stressed.
But I ended up with this:
I think I like it. (Please ignore the toothpaste, nail polish remover, tylenol, and whatnot on the table in front of me.) It's the skirt from one of my suits with a couple of cute sweaters thrown on top. And for a bridal shop? I felt that ruffles and bows were appropriate.
And I think that my interviewer liked it, too, because halfway through the interview she stopped talking to me about bing a "consultant" and started talking to me about coming back to interview for the position of "assistant manager."
I'm actually very excited.
BUT. This means that I'll have to pick out another outfit for a second interview.
And if I get hired? I have to deal with First Day outfits. And Second Day outfits. Honestly, it would never end.
(Some people say I'm pathetic, but I think I'm AWESOME.)

Good luck with the interview! The outfit looks great!
you look very cute. Got any wedding dresses around for the second interview?
How awesome! Good luck on your interview. I'm sure your sense of style will be fantastic for the job. In some ways I'm glad that I'm a desk jockey cause there are plenty days when black pants and a clean shirt are my uniform. I can't get inspired to dress up everyday. However, I feel that this job would so fit you!
Such developments would demand several shopping missions, no question. Awesome.
You're too cute not to get hired. Love the outfit, fingers crossed for the assistant manager position!!!
I think the outfit is perfect for the interview! You did well.
If you interview for the Assistant Manager position, do it in a feminine cut tweed blader with embellishments! Pair it with a stright skirt and kitten heels. Of course, you should include a top in this ensemble. Your choice.
I'm very happy for you that you are at least going on interviews :)
Your outfit was perfect. Very fitting for the whole bridal shop thing. Can't wait to hear your funny bridal shop horror stories.
I agree with wearing a wedding dress to your second interview. You'd stand out, and they'd see your practical and stylish side, all in one.
Good luck, it's a great outfit, and I hope you get it!
good luck on the job, the outfits great but you let us all down!
WHERE ARE THE SHOES????
You are totally awesome! Great outfit. You'll be running the bridal shop in no time.
And, umm, nice counter.
You need to stop hiding your cute face. Seriously. It's not like you write about how you sleep around at work or kill puppies on the sly or something.
(If anyone wants to see the beautiful Marcia in all her tailgating glory, stop by my blog and scroll down a little. Mwahahahahahahahaha.)
Love the outfit--I see assistant manager in your future (the very near future)!
You are awesome! ;) Cute outfit! And FUN job...way to go.
I think that was an AWESOME pick for the bridal job. I think if you go back for the manager job, you should wear a suit. A casual suit, but a suit nonetheless.
What is this next interview (above)? Are you sure you shouldn't wear a suit? I'm a believer in the suits for interviews. I used to work for recruiters and they drilled it into my brain.
Cute outfit! Seriously, I think it has good karma too. Have you heard back yet?
