Honestly. I Need a Job. There's Altogether Too Much Craftiness Going On Here.

For example, today I bought SIX POUNDS of apples and turned them into applesauce.

Then I made peanut butter cookies.

Then steak, baked french fries (with thyme and Parmesan), and green beans.

Really, I'm about to make myself fat with all of this.

BUT. Sometimes, I am crafty and home-y for other people.

For example, The Fluid Pudding herself sent me pants to turn into a skirt.

(Minor Freak Out Time: The FLUID PUDDING. If you don't read her, you should. She's been blogging for five years, and is not completely changing the format of her website, and so you need to go read her archives before they DISAPPEAR FOREVER. But, if you're new to her, she's posting her favorites, as she goes through cleaning up punctuation, here.)

I recieved this (Along with a bag of goodies. And OH. I LOVE bags of goodies.):

The Original Pudding Pants

Angie (the Fluid Pudding) gave me permission to go "All Jackson Pollock" on the skirt. So, I was excited.

First, I had to deal with the large tear in the front. After holding about 300 different fabric samples behind the rip and asking Matt what he thought of them, the tear ended up like this:

Pudding Patch

Pretty flower fabric.

And then.

For the skirt? I did some pretty embroidery.

And. There's a lot more pretty photos, including close-ups of the embroidery, pictures of the back, etc, on the flickr account, in the skirts folder. My favorites are the close-ups of each side. In fact, I'm so in love with the embroidery that I'm posting a close up RIGHT NOW, so that all of you see it:

Left Side Embroidery

I wanted the embroidery to look like fireworks, but I think it's more like flowers. But I still love it.

And. I made a little tag to go in it:

Marcia Tag

And. Honestly? I'm still not tired of making these. I'm really excited about making more - and I have crazy ideas for them. I actually carry a little notebook with me all the time, and I have an entire section devoted to "skirt ideas." And that's either a point of pride or shame, depending how you look at it.

Beautiful work, Marcia! You are so talented. You've inspired me to create my own skirt. Once this semester is over.

It is a truly amazing skirt. I wore it a few days back, and I could just feel the envy oozing out of everyone who saw me. With the help of this skirt, I am always The Swankiest Girl in the Room.

Thanks again.

Now I just need to get a sewing machine.
And learn how to use it.

Bee-yoo-ti-ful. Honestly, are you charging people for this? Because it sounds like you've found yourself a job of your very own making...

Marcia, I agree that you ought to start charging for this. So very very bad- a**! And lovely.

Babe, I love you. You're crafty, innovative, fun, lively, and whole-heartedly entertaining. If I was into snatch, I'd be bull's-eyeing right at ya.

Now pick up some sticks and KNIT SOMETHING ALREADY.

I just clicked over from Melissa's (your "landlord") blog and I had to say that I just LOVE what you did with that pair of jeans and how. Very cool. You should open up shop. You could even sell right from your blog if you just plug in a PayPal shopping cart. Anyway, that's my two cents. Very cool!
