Really, I'm Quite Whine-y.

"Ma-aa-aa-aa-tt-tt-tt-tt" I moan. "I don't like all this work they're making me do. I think it's worthless, and I don't think it's preparing me to teach people how to take the GRE. And I don't like it, and I'm grumpy, and you should be nice to me!!"

(This is me, working on my "homework" [which I get paid for] over the past few days.)

"Oh yeah. Seriously. It's UNHEARD OF that someone who hasn't been working, really, for the past 8 months, would be upset that she actually does have to work now, and do what she's told, even though it seems useless."

(This is Matt, completely making fun of me.)

"But... But... But... I only got this job because I thought it would be fun, and really, I don't have to work, and we're only here until September, anyway."

(This is me, justifying my ass off.)

"Yes, you do have to work, and you're not allowed to quit this job unless you have another one. Or it's August 15th."

(This is Matt, completely deflating my back-up plan.)

So, there you have it. I've spent the past two days, (literally, 12 hours,) working on homework for tomorrow. And I hope it pays off... or else I really am quitting, no matter what Matt says.

(I show this to Matt to read, and he just smirks, and says, "You're not quitting.")

Honestly, when you work part time, you feel tired, like you've worked full-time... I don't know how I'm going to adjust.

In other words, I feel for you, no matter what anyone else says.

Would you consider this a throwaway job? Then quit if you want to.

Sigh. I've been getting that "must get a job" lecture as well. And even though I know he's right, and I'd be bored off my ass sitting at home every day, I still whine about it. We're entitled.
