Matt and I are officially in contract to buy a co-op apartment in the West Village.
Which means that we're now in the process of a) filling out our board package (which requires untold numbers of letters of recommendation and employment, ridiculous amounts of financial information, and a face to face interview to make sure we're acceptable new inhabitants of the building), b) finalizing our loan, c) dreaming about new furniture and remodeling the kitchen. And paint. And removing the 20 years of paint shutting the transoms above the doors to the two bedrooms (I really think there's glass under there!). And also: contacting the broker of our current building so that she'll rent it out and we won't pay a huge fee. And packing. And hiring movers. Etc.
BUT. If all goes well, we'll be West Village-rs by early July. And I'll be able to walk to work in less than 15 minutes!
