Cocktail Party:

So, I threw my sister, and 30 of her friends, a cocktail party at my house on Friday night.

Party Food!

I only took a picture of the first set of food that I set out. Above you see: a huge cheese tray with little mozzarella balls, roasted onions, roasted peppers, roasted garlic, quince, a plate of Italian meats, olives, hummus, tabbouleh, and in the upper corner, a plate of tarts with tomato or asparagus.

The biggest hit of the evening, though, were the lettuce wraps I made from a recipe on YumSugar. And I've been eating the leftovers for two days, and I'm sad that I'm running out of them.

I was completely stressed out that so many people were coming over, and that I didn't have enough food, and as a consequence, I have a freezer full of appetizer-type food that I could throw out in a pinch, if I ran out of food and the crowd got riotous.

I also pureed a bunch of raspberries with simple syrup, and people put it in the Champagne (it was an engagement party, and Champagne is for celebrating...). Which was another huge hit.

I've never had a part for more than 15 people before... and now I want to do this every week.

Maybe I'll have a moving out party before we head down to the village?

That is simply lovely. Love the whiteware, love the simplicity, love the elegance.

Plus, I just found the pearls o'mozzarella at Schnucks' grocery last week - did they just invent these or something? Wonderful. I put them in a chopped salad.

OK, so did you do the expert or beginner lettuce wraps? I know that you are ABLE to do the expert wraps, I just didn't know if you had the time. And if I invest time into making them, which recipe should I use?
