It would be called, "My Twelve Year Old Self Loved The Boxcar Children, and Secretly Wanted to Be One, but My Hopes Were Dashed When They Stopped Living In That Boxcar, and Where the Hell Was That Grandfather in the First Book Anyway?"
That's all.

Gosh, I totally loved that book.
Can I join your club? :)
I want to join too!!!
Did you know that I bought Tori one of those when she was really little, and now that she's 6 she's really interested in them, so have bought her 8 more in the series. The other day on the phone she said, "Aunt Jennifer, will you help me collect ALL of the Boxcar Children books?" My heart melted, and of course I said yes. I loved those books when I was little, too!!!!!!!! They have some new ones now, written by a ghost writer, and there is an adopted sibling now. My sister has been getting the newer ones from the library.
Loved loved loved the Boxcar Children. I still want a boxcar.
I never read the boxcar children... I feel left out.
:-(
OMG! I so loved the Boxcar Children... I am glad I'm not the only one who thinks of it now and then. And I only found one of them in my Grandma's basement so I don't think I've even read the true wonder of TBC.
It is now my mission to find the rest. Along with gathering the rest of the books I loved as a child so one day when I have my own they aren't stuck reading crap.
Does anyone on here remember the name of that pre-teen series with the girls in the boarding school who had the cool housemother (Alison?) and were best of friends although they were from different worlds? I remember the rich girl from Boston was named Jane but I can't remember much else. And I don't have a clue where those are anymore. I owned a ton of them. They were so better than Sweet Valley High.
I loved the Boxcar children too. My imaginary friends, Sally and Jimmy, lived in boxcars. They each had their own boxcar though and didn't have to share.
I have no idea what you people are talking about.
I'm with doggerel. What is this boxcar mess?
Is this some new-fangled attempt to exclude males from the conversation?
We had this group in high school started by this so-called-leadership teacher which was ONLY for females. They had lunch together each week and talked about stuff. Only the girls of course.
They kept denying it but we all knew it a clandestine male bashing group.
You can tell how much this has affected me so many years later.
Man, this makes me sound really nutso. I'll stop while I'm ahead. But this whole boxcar business sure sounds like code words to me!!
UM. OMIGOD. AND I ALSO WANT TO BE A BOXCAR CHILD AND STORE MILK IN THE NEARBY STREAM SO IT WILL KEEP AND BE COLD AND REFRESHING AND TEACH MY YOUNGER SISTER TO READ USING BITS OF COAL AND PALM FRONDS TO WRITE ON AND THEN GET RESCUED BY KIND PEOPLE WITH A BIG HOUSE AND LIVE IN A LILAC COLORED ROOM.
I mean...I guess I would. Like...if your interested or whatever.
OMG I keep talking to all MY FRIENDS about The Boxcar children and NO ONE knows what I am talking about. I LOVED that book series and used to curl up in my bed with all my stuffed animals in my uber pink room and read myself to sleep. I always wanted to be a Boxcar child.
"Memories from the corner of my miiiindddd...."
jargonscout - let's run away together.
