Unemployment Recap:

Today I dropped Matt off at the airport so that he could go take the bar exam. Which as any just-graduated law student will tell you (especially at the end of July, when their last nerves are being fried by the need to continuously review Bar/Bri outlines), is the most important test of their life. (Needless to say, Matt's been a little bit of a stress ball, and I'm glad he's finally going to take the test, so I can stop hearing about studying for it. Up next in my life? While waiting for his score to come back, he'll continuously analyze every word written in the essays and every multiple choice question. Because Mr. Always-in-the-top-20%-of-anything-he-does will be worried that he'll be in the BOTTOM 20% of the thousands of people who are taking the New York Bar this week.)

Then I spent several hours working on the move, organizing for packing, getting a rental van, working on boxes, dealing with the fact that Matt's car had a flat tire...

At 3, I walked with my friend Laura over to Bar Louie, and we had the world's latest lunch. And really damn delicious pot stickers.

After lunch we discovered that her pool? The one that I get all the tan lines at? Is closed indefinitely for maintenance.

So I decided to enjoy the air conditioning. (And yes, work on packing. But if I talk about that, my life sounds significantly less glamorous...)

Being unemployed can be really hard.

(But. I have a list for tomorrow. And if I get enough done? I can maybe have a cocktail at 5pm. Because there is a LOT of work to do before I move on the 31st.)

I have started a new project and I am wondering if you would like to be apart of it. Basically I want to collect postcards from people all over the world . I'm calling it Postcard Exchange (I've posted it on my blog if you want to read more about it) as I offer to send a postcard of Australia to anyone who will send me a postcard from their location. Are you interested? I hope you are as it's doubly cool to get a postcard from a familiar blogger.

Well let me know if you're interested by commenting on my blog or emailing me.

How do you handle it all? The drinking, the pool time, and the drinking? It must be rough...

Good luck wishes for Matt.

And boy is your life rough...pools, air conditioning, and drinking. I am totally jealous!

I must say, you do make being unemployed sound glamorous. Especially with the late lunches, pool & cocktails. I hope your sweetie passes the test & you can both chill out together. :)

BRING IT Matt!

And Marcia? All this talk of cocktails is making me VERY ANGRY at no one in particular that we're not closer. Cuz, you know, I like cocktails. Also, packing.
