I got these fish for $5 at Target because I thought they were cute and that I could use them as they were supposed to be used, as little clingy things that would make me not fall in the shower. Not that I fall in the shower, I just wanted to buy cute blue fish.
But it turned out that my shower floor was textured, and the fish were unable to actually cling to it, as they were intended to. So the fish became wall art for my amusement.
After 6 months or so of this fun, it became obvious that these fish were lonely. That their ecosystem was somehow deficient. That the fish needed friends. Aquatic friends.
And so, the ducks and the frogs were acquired.
None too soon, as the fish by themselves couldn't make this pattern, which appeared in my shower yesterday morning:
Damn. Cute. Aquatic Animals.
Possibly the best $15 I've ever spent.
Also.
I made one of the best desserts ever last night:
Blackberries. Covered in a bittersweet chocolate ganache. Enjoyed with champagne. What more in life could I want?

Your culinary talents amaze and depress me.
I'm not sure what it is, but I just can't seem to cook.
The dessert made me drool. Excuse me, I have to go find a napkin to clean up my computer!!!
Great desert! But the fish, frogs, and ducks, and the story behind them, is super cool. Your bathroom must be very happy.
That's pretty awesome all around.
I just recently found your blog, and think it's great.
Your aquatic animal Valentine has got to be one of the cutest ever.
