The Hold Steady Almost Killed Me

Because I am a creature of habit, and because The Hold Steady was in Cleveland, with Heartless Bastards opening, and because if I'll drive two hours to go see a band, I will definitely drive 45 minutes to go see them again, I went up to their show last night.

The Hold Steady

And, I loved their show, predictably, as I love their music and it was a small-ish venue, and during Massive Nights (that's them performing it at the Rex Theatre when I saw them in Pittsburgh), I got to go on stage and jump around. And when Craig Finn, the lead singer, who looks disturbingly like a crazy professor I had in college, left the stage he totally touched me. Matt thinks he's cool, as he (Matt) touched him (Craig Finn), but I claim to be cooler as... he (Craig) touched me.

And, really, I had to get that damn picture from the last post off of the top of this site - it's really freaking me out.

Think of it this way...a concert addiction is better than a crack addiction. Right?

Glad you had a touchy-feely night out!

Agree completely anonymous. And I touched them. We should all do a post your favorite lyric.

Here's one (of many) of mine:

The devil and John Berryman they took a walk together and they ended up on Washington talking to the river

He said I surrounded myself with doctors and deep thinkers, but their big heads and soft bodies make for lousy lovers

There was that night that we thought that John Berryman could Fly!

But he didn't so he died.

She said you're pretty good with words, but words won't save your life.

And they didn't so he died.
