Just Think of Me as Martha. Except Less Felonious.

One of the things that I've been stressing about lately is my article for Fetch, the magazine that Kat and I are putting together. I'm writing what could be called a "Domestic Diva" column, and it's been hard for me to see myself as someone with that label. It's true that I call myself a "Goddess in the Kitchen" and I'm extremely crafty, but something about being a modern, well educated, working woman and being Martha Stewart were held in opposition in my head.

But then I realized that this is exactly what Fetch is there for. Exactly what kind of demographic we're trying to reach. Women who will read Fetch are going to have the same issues that I do with domesticity vs. Manolos. With wearing a power suit while cooking dinner. With being respected as a man's equal while still being able to cook him a dinner that looks and tastes like you've done nothing but cook for a week - without actually working that hard.

And so I was able to start writing.

And I think it's going to be damn good. I've gotten all excited all over again.
